Tom Wilson

     Tom Wilson was born April 11, 1931 in Rockingham County. He graduated from Madison High School in 1949 and went to work for Carolina Steel Company in 1950. He then joined the US Coast Guard in 1951. In 1954, he returned to Carolina Steel. Three years later, in 1957, he married his present wife, Cookie Garner. They have two daughters: Tonya and Suzanne. In 1958, Mr. Wilson came to know Jesus Christ as Lord over his life.

     Mr. Wilson retired from full-time work in 1993. When asked, he states, "The important things in my life have been, and still are, God, my family, and my church."
